Books I'd Need to Read

...I've been browsing. Reading all these fantastic blogs and subscribing to them. And it doesn't really surprise me to find that there are too many books I haven't read yet!

I've started compiling a list of books that my school library needs to get, and if our very kind librarian is willing to bring them in, then I would literally jump out of my seat in excitement.

Here are some books I'm reading at the moment:

Shiver by Maggie Steifvater:

I've heard about the awesomeness of this one for a while. And the cover is absolutely amazing. It's a simple theme, but really meaningful. The branches are a  net, a barrier between the protags' love. The drop of blood, and the wolf lurking in the background are also significant to the story.

Liar by Justine Larbaleister:

This book was also released a while ago, and the blurb really interested me. Then I saw it at my library today, and immediately picked it up. One of the librarians was looking at me weirdly when I started whooping. ><

Gallagher Girls 4: Only the Good Spy Young by Ally Carter:

Yay! I've been looking forward to reading this for ages, ever since it came out. I've been bugging my mum into getting it for me, and she finally relented! I'm going to do a review on the Gallagher Girls series later, because everyone should read it. And my school library doesn't have it yet, so this is going on the List.
(Personally, I like the Australian cover - the one on the right - better)

Some books I want to read:

Fallen by Lauren Kate:

This book has been out for a couple of months, and there's like 20 reserves at my library The school library doesn't have it either, so that's a bummer. But it's on the List. And I heart the covers!

The Chronicles of Vlad Tod by Heather Brewer:

It's been out in America for a while, and only got released in Australia on the 2nd of August. (Aaah, Australia...!) But the buzz about it has been really good, it's so exciting.

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins:

A friend of mine recently read it, lots of bloggers recommended it, so I'm going to read it. It's a sci-fi novel from what I can tell, and you know me, I'm a sucker for anything Sci Fi.

What books are you looking forward to reading?

Aww, thanks Nomes. :)
Yeah, Shiver's such a good read. I just finished it this morning, and I loved it! It ends on such a cliffhanger though.
I'm holding out for "Linger" too. Can't wait.
Lucky you! I hope you enjoy them, I know I did.

You've got a lot of nice books still to read!

I loved The Hunger Games (I'm 40+) and my son (13) did, too. We're both waiting for the 3rd in this series. It's out next week, I think!

I've got Shiver waiting to be read, I hope to read it this week or the next. From what I heard, it's a great series, too.

Tina, if there is one thing that we all share it is the many "lists" we keep. Books to be read that we own, books we would like to read, books we want to buy, books we have already read, books that have beautiful covers that are as some say "drool worthy" and it goes on and on! You have come across this obsession now and it will grip you also from the looks of this post. Reading a book is like walking into a different life, it takes you to places you only dream about and with some books let's you become someone else for the time it takes to read the story....

Lots of great books on your list! I am glad you are giving The Hunger Games a try. I think the series is fantastic. I love the Gallagher Girls books (especially the new one) and Shiver. I haven't read Linger yet but I hope to get it soon.

I loved Fallen too, though I didn't like Liar all that much.

Shiver was okay...

@ leeswammes: I'm so lucky that my school library is wonderfully stocked! Aww, it's so nice that both you and your son can enjoy the same books, and form a more intimate relationship.
I'm really looking forwards to reading it.

@ Jackie: Your comment is wonderful, and a perfect observation. I love that beautifully true line: "Reading a book is like walking into a different life." - I'm going to have to quote you a lot of times. ^-^

@ Sas: :D I'm really looking forward to reading Hunger Games. I feel like I've been missing out on something amazing, so I've got a lot of catching up to go!
Thanks for your input on the others!

@ Kah Woei: Don't worry, I'll give you my verdict. I hope that you manage to acquire a copy, so we can read it together! :D
