Book Blogger Hop / Follow Friday #1

Book Blogger Hop

Follow Friday is a meme hosted by Parajunkee, where people spread the book love by following around the blogosphere.

Book Blogger Hop is a meme hosted by Jennifer at Crazy-For-Books, where book bloggers can "connect with other book lovers, make new friends, support each other, and generally just share our love of books!"

Question of the Week: How many book blogs do you follow?

How do I find out this? Hmm...aah. Found it, by clicking around a couple of places. Here's a direct link to the number of blogs you're following.

Because I'm relatively new to the community, I'm only following 43 book blogs at the moment. I have followed a couple of my friends that don't have book blogs, rather personal blogs.

As for the amount of blogs I actually read, that is usually what comes up on my reading list. Occasionally, when I'm surfing, I find new blogs that I read. But what I've noticed is that some don't have a Google Friend Connect widget that I can easily find, and as a result, I don't end up following them.

So some advice from me (as if I'm in any position to give advice >< ), is to have your following widget somewhere easy to see, but not too prevalent. If followers is your thing, of course. (And when is it not? XD)

Anyway, I hope you enjoy your week, and your book hopping.

Leave a comment below so I can check out your blog and follow, and please stop by and have a look at a couple of my reviews in the sidebar.

Just stopping in via the hop to say hi! I'm a huge YA fan as well, so I'm happy to have found your blog! I see you just finished Vampire Academy not too long ago and that is one of my favorite series. I'm sad to see it end in December but can't wait to find out what happens!

Hello! Stopping by from the Hop. Glad to see another new blogger. :]

I noticed your Books I Lurve post, and I saw that you listed The Time Traveller's Wife. I'm glad you liked it! It's definitely a good book, although depressing.

Hope you have a great weekend! Oh, and I'm a new follower.

Commenting back! Like you, I also tend to miss replies when I comment on other blogs.

To answer your question, I haven't actually seen the movie yet. I want to - and the reason I decided to read the book is because I saw the trailer. But I haven't gotten around to it yet.

Have you seen it? And if so, is it worth seeing?

Just hopping through from the Blog Hop.

I completely understand what you are saying with the follow button. So many blogs make it too small or at the very bottom of their list and it's so difficult to find.

I was looking around your blog and noticed you read and enjoyed The Hunger Games. Have you gotten to the second book yet? It's just as great!

I'm your newest follower and i hope you'll stop by and visit me. Here's a link: http://amberinblunderland.blogspot.com/

Have an awesome weekend!

Hi Tina, thanks for commenting on my Beautiful Creatures review. Like you, I haven't read very many co-authored books (and looking at my favorites, the vast majority are single author books). One exception is Sorcery & Cecelia by Patricia Wrede & Caroline Stevermer - I absolutely love this book! However, it is written as letters between two characters (rather than, for example, two authors collaborating on a first-person perspective of just one individual).

Another one I can think of is the "Of Two Minds" series by Carol Matas & Perry Nodelman. They manage to pull it off quite well (their books get a little bizarre, but they're supposed to), from what I can remember using a third-person perspective and sort of flipping the focus back and forth between the two main protagonists.

Not sure how much of a difference it makes, but I think how the two authors choose to write the book (the style and voice) could definitely be affected by the fact that there's two authors. Something interesting to think about though!

RYC: Aww thank you! But no, I didn't make the banner unfortunately! It is really pretty though :)

I'm glad to hear that the movie is worth seeing! I thought The Time Traveler's Wife, as a movie, would mask all of the depression that goes on in the book - you know, that they'd try to give it a more "wow" and supernatural feel.

But I'm really glad that it does the book justice. I hope to see it soon! Thanks for letting me know. :]
